The main aim of this contribution is to overview the role of internal migration in development of Czech regional and urban structures with special regard to period of transition in the 1990s. At the beginning, we outline the general development trends of urban agglomerations and its new features in developed countries after Second World War. The structure of the Czech migration and its territorial aspects are analyzed for last period. The reasons of changes of the migration movement in the Czechia and other post-communist countries in 1990s are discussed.
