Exploring the viability of XML for use in POPIN web sites
Technical Report to POPIN - Czech Republic
Addendum B: downloads
If you have found our project inspiring and useful, you may want to try and to implement in practice the utilities we have described. Their source code is not yet free for dissemination, but programs and configuration files, which you find on your website, are fully available to you. You must have discovered a number of links to various tools in the previous text. Here we present a complete summary of downloadable files. It was our objective to create the proposal of a new standard, taking into account the data exchange between countries. You can write your own programs, which would take indispensable steps in data conversion in order to establish a project in compliance with the described standard. We hope that our programs will save you the "TCO" (Total Cost of Ownership) on your project.
General remarks: By following the subsequent advice, you will avoid the need to read long tutorials before the use of our tools:
- Running any program from the command line with the parameter "/?" (such as csv2xml /? ) will show you a brief help for use, including the version of the program.
- The DTD file shown in this overview is the first proposal of standard DTD for the whole POPIN. All configuration files must respect it to make the programs working properly. Otherwise, you can modify configuration files according to your needs. The model files are the same as those, which we use when working with real data. You can therefore discover "how we´ve made it."
- If you have any questions, comments, bug reports, etc, establish contact with us either through individuals given in the list of people who drafted the project or simply send a report to the POPIN-CZ team.
The following list contains all downloadable files:
